The glazing systems and fasteners shown below are for use with multiwall polycarbonate panels. What type of screw should you use when installing polycarbonate panels? It is important to choose the correct fastener for your specific application. We recommend using a minimum of #10 course screw for soft woods (fir, pine, cedar or spruce) and #10 self-drilling screw for metal, such as aluminum or steel. (Fasteners should penetrate the roof or wall of your structure by at least one (1) inch.) Use at least a 1/2" non-conductive EPDM bonded washer. It is okay to use a larger washer. (Minimum outside diameter of washer needs to be 1/2".) In an area of heavy winds, use 1" Diameter Neoprene Bonded Steel Washers or 1" Diameter Neoprene Bonded Bubble Steel Washers.
