Different Uses For A Season Extender

Juliana offers three varieties of Season Extenders to choose from. Cold frames are traditionally used to start    planting early in the season directly in the garden. Grow racks can be used on sunny patios or window areas to start seeds or keep plants vibrant and healthy through the winter. The Starterhouse is an inexpensive introduction to greenhouse gardening.

What To Look For In A Season Extender

Aluminum framing is the best option for Season Extender as it is durable, maintenance-free and lightweight. And polycarbonate is ideal for the covering of the greenhouse. For our Cold frames and Starterhouse, we've selected twin wall polycarbonate that is unbreakable, insulating and has a UV coating so it won't break down over time. It also diffuses the sunlight and prevents plants from burning.

The cold frame in fact is a mini greenhouse being very suitable for growing young plants and vegetables in the early spring. The cold frame is supplied with 4mm polycarbonate which is insulating to protect the young plants.
