BASE FRAMES |
|
Before you erect the greenhouse, it is important to have a strong and stable foundation correctly anchored in the ground. That is why we recommend you buy an original Halls steel base designed for the model you select. The galvanized steel base adds 5" to the greenhouse height and is simple to assemble. |

Greenhouse kits placed on the ground without an established base run the risk of damage to the greenhouse frame structure. Over time the frame can settle and warp, causing windows and doors to jam or not shut correctly. A base frame will also allow a better opportunity to anchor your greenhouse and lessen the chance of damage by high winds or other weather conditions. |

Your greenhouse frame will then sit nicely on your base, with a slight overhang all around. You will need to drill at least one hole in each 2' section of the bottom sill all around, to attach the frame to your base with screws (2" long). Be sure to drill the holes toward the inside of the frame so the screw heads will not interfere with the glazing panels. We recommend using pressure treated 4x6 lumber (on edge) for your base. |
